IAPWA’s work is made possible by our passionate team, including many dedicated volunteers. You can find out more about our UK team and what they do below:

Nicky Stevens

Founder & CEO

Nicky founded IAPWA in 2009 following a trip to Borneo where she witnessed the plight of thousands of strays. Due to her work there, she was awarded a British Citizen Medal for international achievement. Since then, IAPWA have expanded to support animals in 9 countries. Nicky lives with our Borneo Ambassadog Louis and a rescue cat called Summer.

Rebecca Dyke

Recruitment Director (V)

Rebecca has worked within the Recruitment industry for over 20 years and runs her own agency. She is passionate about finding the right people to support our work and loves spending time with her family and dogs, Shiloh and‎ Missy.

Carole AddaBerkane

Partnership Manager (V)

Carole manages our Elephant and Rhino partnerships.  She is passionate about helping wildlife and has enjoyed taking part in overseas fundraising challenges, and has also volunteered for wildlife campaigns and at Wildlife SOS in India.  Carole lives with her two cats, Spidee and Violet.

Beth Jennings

Campaign Manager

Beth founded and manages the ‘Claws Out’ campaign against the captive breeding of lions, canned hunting and the lion bone trade. She is passionate about making a big difference through this campaign, which is in partnership with Born Free and the Olsen Trust.

Jo Mackenzie

Project Co-ordinator - Romania (V)

Jo qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2009. As well as her clinic nursing in the UK, she volunteers up to 3 times a year in areas of need, including India, Greece, Bosnia and Ukraine. She first visited Romania in 2016 and has volunteered there many times since and is committed to making long term change through developing our work within Romania.

Ruth Everett

Communications Assistant (V)

Ruth is currently studying digital marketing and joined us to volunteer her time so as she could use what she is learning to help animals within our Communications Team. She also runs her own dog blog.

Charlotte Broad

Communications Assistant (V)

Charlotte is a freelance copywriter and joined IAPWA to use her skills to make a difference to animals in need. When Charlotte’s not writing she loves spending time with her family walking her parents rescue dog, Shaggy.

Ruben Heijloo

Graphic Design & Marketing (V)

Ruben provides graphic design and marketing support. He has previously worked within events, marketing and film and has volunteered at a seal sanctuary and as a board member of an organisation against bull fighting.

Jess Brown

Graphic Designer (V)

Jess brown is a freelance graphic designer based between Lancaster & London. Growing up with 4 rescue dogs, animal welfare is a cause close to her heart and one she feels extremely passionate about. She is a firm believer in ‘adopt don’t shop’. 

Emma Jackson

Website & IT Manager (V)

Emma combines her two loves, animals and technology, in her role with IAPWA. She hopes in the future to set up a rescue centre in the UK and has adopted a rescue cat called Rooster and a Miniature Schnauzer called Ted.
