Adventures for Animals’ is IAPWA’s very own friendly Facebook community. It provides animal-loving adventurers with many opportunities to take part in a range of UK and overseas trips to help our patients receive the treatment and care they need.

From short adventures in the UK to epic challenges like Mount. Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp, there truly is something for everyone.

Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge

Join IAPWA for an epic trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro! The Lemosho route is widely regarded as the most scenic of the trekking trails up the mountain, and in its first few days offers some unique views of the surrounding landscape that aren’t visible from any other place.

By taking part you will not only have an incredible trip with like-minded adventurers but will also be making a big difference to the lives of animals in need by supporting IAPWA.

Sahara Desert Trek

There are very few places on Earth that compare to the incredible landscapes you’ll see when exploring the Sahara Desert.

Running roughly north-south along Morocco’s eastern border with neighbouring Algeria, the Sahara Desert is the world’s largest hot desert and you can explore it as part of this exciting adventure with IAPWA.

Join us on this challenge in collaboration with our friends at StreetVet, and raise funds to support our lifeline for animals in need.

Romania, Europe

Join IAPWA on a thrilling trip to Romania. This challenge provides the perfect opportunity for you to explore new corners of the world and enjoy new experiences with like-minded people, all whilst raising lifesaving funds for the animals in our care.

From exploring scenic Transylvania and Bran (Dracula’s) Castle, to a guided tour of the inspirational Libearty Bear Sanctuary, and trekking through the stunning Piatra Craiului Natural Park, there are so many wonders to explore and enjoy on this thrilling adventure.

Mount Toubkal, North Africa

Want to ascend the rocky giant of Jebel Toubkal and stand on the summit of North Africa’s highest mountain? You’ll have the opportunity to absorb an incredible panoramic view of the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and the environments that have enclosed them for centuries. 

Winter is a great time to trek in the Toubkal National Park as it offers a true winter mountaineering experience. The mountains are virtually deserted apart from the friendly local Berbers – you’ll have plenty of time to learn their customs and enjoy hearty home-cooked meals during this epic mountain adventure.

Everest Base Camp, Nepal

This epic adventure is designed to get you close to the ‘mother of all peaks’ Mount Everest – the highest peak in the world! 

Everest Base Camp Trekking is all about getting to some of the highest navigable points on Earth. The trek takes you to the very base of Mt. Everest through the exceptional landscape of Everest region with the cultural richness of highland Sherpa settlements and monasteries; and the natural wonders of Himalayan giants including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, AmaDablam and Pumori.
