Azores Ultra-Marathon

Date: 23rd - 24th April, 2022

In partnership with Ultra X take on this challenging but achievable adventure whilst fundraising for animals and wildlife across the world with IAPWA.

Run or walk 125km over two days through the unique and stunning countryside of the Azores to raise money to help animals in need. This is the challenge and adventure of a lifetime and a unique chance to explore this far-flung island archipelago.

Ultra X 125 Azores takes place on the island of São Miguel, nicknamed “the Green Island”, one of nine volcanic islands based out in the mid-Atlantic that form the Azores archipelago.

Governed by Portugal, this wild and remote archipelago is characterised by dramatic landscapes, fishing villages, mountain trails, lagoons, and luscious green pastures. Due to the marine influence, the climate of the Azores is very mild for such a northern location and temperatures remain around 20°C all year round.

If you’d like to take on the Ultra X 50 Azores (50km race) instead of the full 125km then this takes place on the second day (Sunday) of Ultra X 125 Azores. Please click on the enquire now button to chat about this option.

Any questions please contact us to speak with our Challenge Events Manager, Richard, who has completed a couple of these 250km events himself and would love to talk you through it and answer any questions you may have.

Arrival in Azores: 22nd April
Depart from Azores: 24th / 25th April
